Moreno Hosts Roundtable with Local, State, and Federal Officials on Law Enforcement

WASHINGTON –Today, Senator Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio) hosted a roundtable with local, state, and federal officials in Cincinnati to discuss the need for more law enforcement officers. In July, a violent mob attack occurred in Cincinnati and Senator Moreno has led the way in working with local officials to reach solutions to reduce crime, give law enforcement adequate resources, and safely secure the streets of Cincinnati to protect bystanders and allow local businesses to thrive.
“Since this violent mob attack in one of our great cities in Ohio, I committed to speaking with leaders at every level to put measures in place to ensure this never happens again,”said Moreno.“I’m grateful for the progress we’ve made thanks to the dialogues I’ve had with Mayor Pureval, Chief Theetge, and other local leaders. I will continue to work to make sure that law enforcement has the ability to keep the citizens of Cincinnati safe.”
Amongst those joining Senator Moreno were Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval, Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theetge, Attorney General Dave Yost, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio Dominick Gerace, and Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich. Several local law enforcement officials and various business leaders from the Cincinnati area were also in attendance.
