Bill Cuts Taxes, Secures Border and Rebuilds Economy WASHINGTON — Today, Congressman Vern Buchanan , Vice Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee , released the following statement after President Donald J. Trump signed the “One Big, Beautiful Bill” into law on Independence Day: “Seventy-seven million Americans voted for President Trump and a Republican majority to cut taxes, secure our border, unleash American energy, restore peace through strength, eliminate wasteful spending and rebuild our economy. Today, on our nation’s 249th birthday, we are delivering. “The ‘One Big, Beautiful Bill’ is the definition of promises made and promises kept. I’m proud to have helped lead efforts on the House Ways and Means Committee to make the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act permanent and enact an America First agenda. This bill provides sweeping tax relief for families, workers, seniors, small businesses and servicemembers. We are keeping the American Dream alive by restoring opportunity, rewarding hard work and putting Americans first.” Buchanan serves as Vice Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee.
