Rep. Nancy Mace Releases Statement on 50-Car Pileup on I-95
October 1, 2026 Press Release CHARLESTON, S.C., (Oct 1, 2026) – Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace released the following statement on this morning's mass-casualty 50-car pileup on I-95 near Lake Marion: “Lives can change in an instant, and this morning, they did. What began as an ordinary commute for hundreds of South Carolinians and travelers quickly turned into a horrific scene. “Our first responders ran straight into the chaos. Santee Fire, Clarendon County Fire Rescue, and the South Carolina Highway Patrol worked to reach those trapped and injured. We owe these brave men and women more than words can say. “Moments like this remind us who our first responders are. They do not hesitate. They do not stop. They get the job done. “We’re praying for everyone injured and for their families. We’re asking God for strength, healing, and a full recovery. “To everyone traveling I-95, please be patient, follow local officials’ guidance, and give crews the space they need to safely clear the scene. “God bless South Carolina, and God bless our first responders.” ### Issues : Lowcountry
