Hoyer Statement on the Beginning of the 2027 Open Enrollment Period

Hoyer (MD-05) released the following statement to mark the beginning of the enrollment period for health insurance coverage in 2027: "I encourage all Marylanders to visit MarylandHealthConnection.gov to explore their options and enroll in a high-quality, affordable health-care plan that works best for them. Even families with existing plans should visit Maryland Health Connection to review their coverage and ensure that it meets their needs for the coming year. “Sixteen years ago, I was proud to help to secure House passage of the Affordable Care Act, but that achievement is now once again under threat. Since taking office last year, President Trump and Congressional Republicans have made devastating cuts to health-care access and affordability, gutting over $1 trillion from Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act. Presently, millions of Americans are struggling to choose between rising health-care premiums and putting food on the table because of these Republican cuts.
