ENGLEWOOD, NJ — Today, Monday, November 2, 2026, Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) announced that he secured $450,000 in federal funding from Washington for the City of Englewood to invest in the completion of its new Dispatch and Emergency Management Center. Watch full remarks here and facility tour footage here . “This funding finishes the construction and fits out the technology, so this center can go live. That means the police chief, the fire chief, and our other partners can sit together and run the response to a major storm, fire, or other incident,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). The funding will complete construction of the center and fit it out with the technology it needs to go live. Once operational, police, fire, EMS, and city officials will be able to work off the same information in real time during a major storm, fire, or evacuation, with the people making decisions in the same room as the people talking to units on the ground. Since coming to Congress, Gottheimer has also clawed back $4,099,061 in federal funding for Englewood’s firefighters, including $739,931 through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program and $3,359,129 through the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) program. Gottheimer was joined by Bergen County Commissioner Tracy Zur, Englewood Mayor Michael Wildes, Councilwoman Dr. Lisa Wisotsky, Police Chief Thomas Greeley, Deputy Police Chief Matthew De La Rosa, Fire Chief Jeffrey Kaplan, Deputy Fire Chief Kyle Hummel, and City Manager Robert Hoffmann.
