October 19, 2026 Press Release LOS ANGELES – Congresswoman Luz Rivas (CA-29) released the following statement after her district office in Arleta received a suspicious envelope with no return address: “This morning, my district office in Arleta received a suspicious envelope with no return address. Out of an abundance of caution, my staff took immediate safety precautions and contacted local law enforcement. “After law enforcement’s swift response, it was determined that this envelope did not pose a threat to my staff or district office. My staff and I are safe, and remain committed to serving constituents of California’s 29th District. I am thankful to law enforcement for working with my office. “While the contents of this envelope were not consistent with the suspicious envelopes my colleagues have received, my office will continue to follow safety protocols and remain vigilant of all suspicious mail or packages to ensure everyone’s safety.” ###
