Rep. McBride Statement on the Passing of Former Delaware Senate President Pro Tempore Patricia "Patti" Blevins

October 7, 2026 Press Release WILMINGTON, Del. — Today, Congresswoman Sarah McBride (D-Del.) issued the following statement on the passing of Former Delaware Senate President Pro Tempore Patricia "Patti" Blevins: "I am deeply saddened by the news of Patti Blevins’s passing, and my heart is with her husband, Michael, their daughter, Julia, and the countless Delawareans whose lives were touched by Patti’s tireless commitment to our state of neighbors. " Patti was a longtime leader in the Delaware Senate who brought a rare combination of kindness and conviction to her work as a public servant. I saw both firsthand when we worked together to pass nondiscrimination protections in 2013. She always had a remarkable ability to build trust and find a path forward, without ever losing sight of the people her work was meant to serve. " Patti meant so much to me and so many others here on Team McBride. Delaware is a better place because she chose to serve it, and my team and I will miss her dearly." ###
