Emmer, Minnesota Republican Delegation Demand Increased Election Security
WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Tom Emmer (MN-06) led Minnesota’s Republican congressional delegation in sending a letter to Governor Tim Walz and Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon regarding the recent indictments of noncitizens voting in Minnesota’s elections and demanding election security.
“These recent indictments are proof of what commonsense Minnesotans have known all along: Minnesota’s elections are rife with fraud,” said Congressman Emmer . “One noncitizen voting is one too many. It’s simple: only citizens should vote in our elections. I won’t stop fighting for safe, secure elections. It’s time Governor Walz and Secretary Simon do the same.”

On September 30, 2026, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) announced that a federal grand jury indicted ten individuals for voter fraud, charging them with false claims of citizenship to vote in Minnesota’s elections, including the 2022 and 2024 general elections and the 2026 primary election. All of this follows over a year of requests from the DOJ for information on Minnesota’s voter lists and compliance with federal election guidelines.
