Warner Statement on MWAA President and CEO Jack Potter Retiring
WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Mark R. Warner (D-VA) released the following statement on the announcement that Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) President and CEO Jack Potter will be retiring: “For more than 15 years, Jack Potter has been a terrific partner and a dedicated advocate for Northern Virginia’s airports and the millions of travelers who rely on them. Under his leadership, MWAA has made tremendous strides in expanding and modernizing Dulles International Airport and Reagan Washington National Airport, from extending the Silver Line 23 miles to Dulles to completing Project Journey, which added a new 14-gate concourse at Reagan. I’ve had the pleasure of working closely with Jack on many of these efforts over the years, but I’m especially appreciative of his steady leadership and compassion in the aftermath of last year’s tragic midair collision near DCA, as we worked together to strengthen aviation safety and prevent another tragedy. Jack’s contributions will leave a lasting impact on our region and benefit Virginians for years to come. I’m grateful for his friendship, partnership, and dedication to public service, and I wish him nothing but the best as he begins this well-earned next chapter.” ###
