Cassidy Announces Over $18.9 Million for Louisiana Hurricane Ida, Francine Recovery

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced Louisiana will receive $18,928,243.43 in federal funding from the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to support disaster recovery and emergency response efforts following Hurricanes Ida and Francine. The funding will assist with debris removal, coastal restoration, and management costs for local and state agencies. “Louisiana communities know how to clean up, rebuild, and move forward after a storm,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This funding supports those efforts.” Funding Amount Recipient Project Description $8,848,904.40 Greater Lafourche Port Commission This grant will provide federal funding for permanent repairs to Fourchon Beach following Hurricane Ida. $5,325,560.68 Jefferson Parish This grant will provide federal funding for management costs associated with Hurricane Ida recovery. $2,555,432.44 Terrebonne Parish This grant will provide federal funding for debris removal and monitoring operations following Hurricane Francine. $2,198,345.91 Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development This grant will provide federal funding for debris removal operations following Hurricane Francine. ###
