Kaine Statement on Supreme Court’s Move to Greenlight Racial Profiling

WASHINGTON, D.C. –Today, U.S. Senator Tim Kaine, a former civil rights lawyer, released the following statement regardingthe Supreme Court’s moveto grant a Justice Department request to allow the Trump Administration to target people for deportation based on their race or language:
“Without even hearing oral arguments first, the Supreme Court greenlit a Trump Administration request to allow racial profiling in immigration enforcement activity. All Americans deserve to feel safe, regardless of the color of their skin or the language they speak. President Trump’s reckless immigration policies are becoming less and less popular by the day, and the serious collateral damage this development will likely cause will only accelerate that trend.”
