WASHINGTON
– Last week, Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations Chairman Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) joined Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) in sending letters to five federal entities and four telecommunications companies requesting they provide Congress records that were handed over to former Special Counsel Jack Smith as part of his elector case against President Trump. Smith’s case began at the Biden Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) under the codename “
Arctic Frost
.”
This work follows Sen. Johnson and Sen. Grassley’s
bicameral effort
to obtain Justice Department and FBI records related to the collection of Members of Congress’ phone records during Arctic Frost.
The letters that Sens. Johnson and Grassley sent to five federal entities on Oct. 10, 2025 are listed below:
Department of Homeland Security
Department of Defense
Office of the Director of National Intelligence
National Archives and Records Administration
U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia
The Oct. 11, 2025 letters to the telecommunications companies are listed below:
