A report by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) found that 2025 represents the third-highest year for antisemitic incidents, as well as the highest year for physical assaults against Jews since the ADL began tracking them in 1979. Many houses of worship, including synagogues, religious community centers, and other at-risk institutions, rely on FEMA’s Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) to pay for critical security upgrades. Senator Rosen recently introduced the bipartisan Jewish American Security Act (JASA) , which would authorize $1 billion for the NSGP. “Over the years, there has been an alarming and sharp increase in attacks on Jewish institutions and individuals — and the holiest time of year shouldn’t also be the scariest,” said Senator Rosen . “I’m grateful to the rabbis from across Southern Nevada who met with me to discuss how critical the Nonprofit Security Grant Program is for their congregations’ safety and security ahead of the High Holidays. I’ll keep pushing to increase funding for this critical program and for passage of my Jewish American Security Act.” As co-founder and co-chair of the Senate Bipartisan Task Force for Combating Antisemitism, Senator Rosen has been a leader in combating antisemitism and protecting Jewish American communities. She, along with Senator Lankford (R-OK), recently introduced the bipartisan Jewish American Security Act (JASA) , a comprehensive bill to strengthen federal efforts to fight antisemitism – including in U.S. academic settings, at Jewish communal institutions, and online.
