Schatz Statement On Government Shutdown

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Brian Schatz (D-Hawai‘i) today released the following statement on the federal government shutdown.
“Unfortunately, cooler heads did not prevail tonight, and the government has been forced to shut down. As a result, federal workers will be furloughed and programs that support people across Hawai‘i will be interrupted. We will continue working every day to reopen the government, and my office will remain open to help residents in any way we can during this difficult time.”
