Washington, D.C.— U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is investigating large, out-of-state companies buying up Georgia homes and driving up home prices.
Today, Sen. Ossoff launched inquiries with several of the top companies nationwide that are purchasing single-family homes across the State of Georgia, raising prices for families and reducing the supply of family homes available for purchase.
In 2023, aninvestigationbyThe Atlanta Journal-Constitution,“American Dream for Rent,” detailed how out-of-state companies are buying up family homes and turning them into rental properties, driving up home prices and making it more difficult for families to purchase homes themselves.
