Washington, D.C. –Today, U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) joined Senate Democratic Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), Senator Alex Padilla (D-Calif.), immigration experts, and Dreamers to celebrate the reintroduction of the bipartisanDream Act. At the press conference, Cortez Masto spoke about the urgent need for permanent protections for undocumented immigrants who grew up in this country.
“At a time when the Trump administration is doing everything it can to tell our friends, neighbors, colleagues, students, and family members that they do not belong here, we must stand with Dreamers,”said Senator Cortez Masto.“Not only is America their home, for many of them, it is the only country they have ever known.
