Luján Statement on Inauguration of President Trump

Albuquerque Journal – OPINION: My work for NM remains the same as the power shifts in DC Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Ben Ray Luján (D-N.M.) issued the following statement regarding the inauguration of President Trump: “Today, I attended the inauguration for the new administration as I have done for each president since being elected to Congress. The peaceful transition of power is a sacred cornerstone of our democracy, and I remain committed to upholding it. “As the new administration takes office, my work for New Mexico remains the same, and I will hold the administration accountable when I see injustice. These next four years will undoubtedly present challenges for the American people, but New Mexicans can rest assured that I’ll always be a strong voice for our state. “I am prayerful for the president and the future of our nation.” ###
