Senator McCormick Secures More Than $270 Million in Federal Funds for Pennsylvania

Funding to Support Public Safety, Infrastructure, Education, Healthcare,and Community Restoration
WASHINGTON, D.C., February 5, 2026 –Senator Dave McCormick (R-PA) today announced he has secured more than $270 million in federal funding for projects across Pennsylvania, supporting critical needs and advancing key priorities throughout the Commonwealth. These federal funds will support projects across public safety, infrastructure, education, healthcare, economic development, and environmental restoration, giving Pennsylvanians the resources to improve critical services, advance opportunities, and enhance quality of life across the Commonwealth.
“This funding delivers real results for Pennsylvanians,”said Senator McCormick.“It helps communities advance important projects and ensures taxpayer dollars are put to work where they are needed most. This money would have been spent by those in Washington, D.C. regardless. My goal is to steer these tax dollars home to worthy projects rather than leave these decisions to unelected bureaucrats.”

Projects were submitted by local governments, nonprofit organizations, and other eligible public entities, selected in accordance with the U.S. Senate Committee on Appropriations’ fiscal year 2026 guidelines, and are designed to provide targeted federal support where it is needed most.

“We are grateful to Senator McCormick for his support and for recognizing the critical role Mercyhurst plays in addressing the healthcare workforce shortage. This investment strengthens nursing and physician assistant education while delivering real value for patients and communities,”said Kathleen A. Getz, PhD, President of Mercyhurst University.
“This funding will improve the efficiency of the wastewater collection system in the merged Wheatland Neighborhood of Hermitage, by eliminating a pump station that has reached its useful life. We are grateful for the strong support of Senators Dave McCormick and John Fetterman, and Congressman Mike Kelly, in making this appropriation possible,”said Duane Piccirilli, President, Hermitage Board of Commissioners.
“This initiative closes significant coverage gaps in our emergency communications system. As outdoor recreation grows as a sector of our economy, we’re particularly pleased that this project will expand emergency radio coverage on portions of the Allegheny National Forest. As rural EMS systems continue to face staffing and sustainability challenges, initiatives like community paramedicine and telehealth allow us to meet people where they are — improving outcomes, reducing strain on hospitals, and strengthening the overall healthcare system. This funding will help ensure that our firefighters and paramedics have the tools, training, and technology necessary to deliver high-quality care to our community every day. The receipt of these funds will help us realize the completion of a new facility that will house our public safety education and training center as well as our EMS headquarters. As a rural emergency medical services organization, Moshannon Valley Emergency Medical Services will use this facility to propel the future of emergency medical care to the entire Moshannon Valley covering Clearfield and Centre Counties and give individuals within Central Pennsylvania a more accessible location for public safety education and training which will improve our workforce and subsequently emergency care to a part of rural Pennsylvania.
