Sen. Rick Scott Announces Big Wins for Florida, Pres. Trump’s Agenda Following FY2026 NDAA Passage
December 17, 2025
WASHINGTON, D.C.
— Today, Senator Rick Scott, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) and chairman of the SASC Subcommittee on Seapower, announced big wins for Florida, our warfighters, and President Trump’s agenda following the final passage of the Fiscal Year 2026
National Defense Authorization Act
(NDAA) in the House and Senate. Senator Scott has fought hard to secure provisions in the NDAA to support Florida’s military men and women, veterans, and their families. This year’s NDAA delivers and builds on his work to hold Communist China accountable and invest in Florida’s military installations and service members, including improvement projects at Eglin Air Force Base, Homestead Air Reserve Base, and Florida’s Space Coast.
The final package included Senator Scott’s
Chinese List Entity Alignment and Review (CLEAR) Act
, which requires a full review by the Department of War (DoW) of any Chinese entity listed under any other U.S. government restrictions to determine whether it should also appear on the 1260H list of Chinese companies benefitting their military.
Senator Rick Scott
said, “Our military men and women put their lives on the line every day to keep our country and our communities safe. As Florida’s U.S. Senator, it is my honor to fight for these heroes and their families in Congress by working with President Trump to deliver the support and resources necessary to complete their mission of keeping our country safe, while also showing up for their loved ones.
“This year’s NDAA includes big wins for the Sunshine State, our military community, and our national security, with key investments to support Florida’s military installations, give our service members a well-deserved raise, keep Homestead Air Reserve fully ready for a renewed flying mission, and ensure this administration has the resources they need to stand up to our adversaries and enact peace through strength around the world.
“As our nation faces enemies and growing threats from around the globe, I am especially proud to have secured key provisions that protect our national security by getting Communist China out of our supply chains, holding North Korea and Iran accountable, and standing with allies like Israel that work with us to fight evil. I will always fight to deliver for our warfighters, their families, and our great state and to advance our national security.”
Senator Scott
successfully fought to include several amendments and measures in the FY 2026 NDAA, including:
A force-wide pay raise of 3.8% for military members;
Securing over $950 million for military construction projects throughout Florida, including the land acquisition and building of a Child Development Center at Eglin Air Force Base to increase access to childcare for military families in the Panhandle;
Extending the joint use prohibition at Homestead Air Reserve Base to 2034 to protect the military mission as threats to U.S. national security rise in Latin America;
Providing support for United States’ ally, Israel, and a total of $80 million for counter-tunneling cooperation; and
Allowing five Service Academy student-athletes to play professional sports and continue to serve our country;
Enact a ban on purchase of Communist Chinese computers and printers by the Department of War (DoW);
Ban purchase of Communist Chinese solar panels and inverters from Foreign Entities of Concern;
Ensure the Secretary of War can add Communist Chinese Companies to the 1260H list if those companies are added to other lists of concern;
Require the Office of the Director of National Intelligence to produce a report on the wealth of the Chinese Communist Party's leadership;
Requiring the Secretary of Defense to gather information about utilizing civilian large cargo aircraft to continue the rapid growth and development of Florida’s space coast
