Malliotakis Cosponsors Bipartisan FRONTIER Act to Establish National AI Framework

Image September 24, 2026 Press Release (WASHINGTON, D.C.) — Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY-11) is joining Congressman Jay Obernolte (R-CA-23) and Congresswoman Lori Trahan (D-MA-03), alongside Representatives Scott Franklin (R-FL-18), Scott Peters (D-CA-50), Erin Houchin (R-IN-09), and Suhas Subramanyam (D-VA-10), in cosponsoring H.R. 9925, Frontier Risk Oversight, National Transparency, Independent Evaluation, and Reporting (FRONTIER) Act . This bipartisan legislation would establish a national, risk-based framework for the development and deployment of the most advanced artificial intelligence models. The FRONTIER Act establishes tiered requirements based on the size of a frontier AI developer, including model cards, risk-management frameworks, independent audits, incident reporting, and ongoing assessments. It also creates a uniform national standard for transparency, auditing, and reporting of catastrophic risk to prevent a patchwork of state regulations. “We need a balanced approach to AI with common sense guardrails and a uniform national standard that protects Americans while allowing innovation to grow and ensuring the United States stays ahead of China.
