Moskowitz Congratulates Boca Raton’s Maya Todorov on Winning Congressional Art Competition

<p><strong>WASHINGTON, DC</strong>&nbsp;— Congressman Jared Moskowitz (D-FL-23) announced this year’s winner for his Congressional Art Competition: Maya Todorov of Boca Raton, a rising senior at Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale.</p>

<p>Todorov’s winning piece&nbsp;<em>Maestro&nbsp;</em>(acrylic paint) will hang in the U.S. Capitol in Washington, DC, until next spring’s competition.</p>

<p><strong>“I want to offer a big congratulations to Maya for her winning submission to this year’s Congressional Art Competition, and a big thank to you to everyone who sent in their art for consideration,”</strong>&nbsp;said Congressman Moskowitz.&nbsp;<strong>“Seeing all that these students made is a reminder of just how talented our next generation is. I look forward to passing Maya’s piece&nbsp;<em>Maestro&nbsp;</em>every day I’m in Washington and for the opportunity to share it with the millions of visitors who come see our nation’s Capitol each year.”</strong></p>

<p>Coming in second place was Tiffany Castro with her piece&nbsp;<em>Shoreline Memories</em>&nbsp;(gouache paint), and tying for third were Erin Larned and Audrey Rao with their pieces&nbsp;<em>Never Forget&nbsp;</em>(ink) and&nbsp;<em>Upstream</em>&nbsp;(ink), respectively. These three pieces will hang in Moskowitz’s district office at Coral Springs City Hall. All submissions to this year’s competition previously hung in a local art show at the Coral Springs Museum of Art.</p>
