Sen. Ossoff Backs Bipartisan Bill to Support Disabled Veterans

Washington, D.C.— U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is backing a bipartisan bill to help disabled veterans get the support they need.
Sen. Ossoff recently cosponsored theService Dogs Assisting Veterans Act of 2025to help connect veterans with service dogs who help veterans facing service-related disabilities.
The bipartisan bill, first introduced by Sens. Thom Tillis (R-NC) and Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), would create a grant program to help non-profit organizations provide veterans with service dogs to assist with service-related disabilities. The grants, administered by the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), would go toward the cost of training and placing service dogs for eligible veterans.
“Our veterans have sacrificed so much for our nation,”Sen. Ossoff said.“This bipartisan legislation will help ensure disabled Georgia veterans get the care and support they need.”
Sen. Ossoff continues working to support Georgia’s servicemembers, veterans, and military families.
Last month, Sen. Ossoffcosponsoredthe bipartisanHousing Unhoused Disabled Veterans Act (HUDVA), first introduced by Sens. Alex Padilla (D-CA) and Dave McCormick (R-PA), to ensure that veterans can more fairly access affordable housing options.
In December, Sen. Ossoffcosponsoredthe bipartisanHelping Heroes Actto expand supportive services for families of disabled veterans, including children taking on caregiving roles for their parents.
Also in 2025, Sens. Ossoff and John Kennedy (R-LA)introducedtheService-Disabled Veteran Opportunities in Small Business Actto help disabled veterans’ small businesses thrive.
