Alsobrooks: “Absolute No” on Markwayne Mullin

WASHINGTON, DC– Senator Angela Alsobrooks (D-Md.) issued the following statement after voting against Markwayne Mullin to be Secretary of Homeland Security:
“Both Kristi Noem and Markwayne Mullin share the one qualification that matters to Republicans: complete allegiance to the President and his lawlessness.
“At the Department of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem oversaw masked men killing Americans in our streets in broad daylight. She advanced an agenda focused on separating families, undermining fundamental rights, and making our communities less safe.
“Markwayne Mullin would repeat those same failures. That’s why I voted ‘No.’
“I’ll keep saying: not another penny to ICE until SERIOUS reforms are put in place.”
