Miller-Meeks Leads Rural Health Transformation Program Roundtable in Washington County

April 7, 2026 Press Release WASHINGTON, IA – U.S. Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-01) convened her third Rural Hospital Roundtable with Iowa HHS, and leaders from hospitals across Southeast Iowa to discuss the $50 billion Rural Health Transformation Program, and the impact it will have in Iowa. “At today’s roundtable, we sent a clear message: the historic, first-of-its-kind Rural Health Transformation Program is a game changer for Iowa’s rural hospitals,” said Dr. Miller-Meeks . “I’m grateful to the team at Iowa HHS, and to Washington County Hospital and Clinic for hosting this important conversation. This program was built to deliver real results, but its success depends on getting it right, and that means working directly with the providers on the front lines. Their input is critical to ensuring these resources are accessible, efficient, and truly meet the needs of rural communities. I’m proud to have secured this program in the Working Families Tax Cuts, and I’m committed to making sure it delivers stronger hospitals, expanded access, and better care for Iowans.” Hospitals represented included Washington County Hospital and Clinics, Jackson County Regional Health Center, Compass Memorial Healthcare, Eastern Iowa Rehabilitation Hospital, Henry County Health Center, Jefferson County Health Center, Keokuk County Hospital & Clinic, Knoxville Hospital & Clinic, Mahaska Health, Great River Health/Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center, Great River Health/Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center, UnityPoint Health-Jones Regional Medical Center, UnityPoint Health-Trinity Muscatine, and the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.
