Ricketts Statement on Signing of U.S.-Iran MOU
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts (R-NE) released the following statement after the signing of the U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding (MOU): “I am deeply grateful for our brave service women and men who have executed Operation Epic Fury. We will never forget those who lost their lives in defense of our freedom, including Nebraska’s own Noah Tietjens. Our military’s actions significantly degraded Iran’s nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles programs, as well as other military assets. A nation that chants ‘death to America’ can never be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon. I am hopeful that the MOU will lay the foundation for a lasting diplomatic solution. I will also be following what economic benefits Iran may be receiving from this deal and in what time frame. Nebraskans deserve to know how this MOU will impact our country. I look forward to the Administration providing more details in the days to come.”
