Rosen Helps Introduce Bill to Protect Access to Birth Control

WASHINGTON, DC– Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) joined Senate colleagues in introducing theAccess to Birth Control Act. This legislation would guarantee women timely access to birth control at pharmacies nationwide—including by requiring pharmacies to provide patients with their preferred form of birth control medication.“When the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, it opened the floodgates to extreme attacks on reproductive freedoms across our nation. Anti-choice extremists have now made it clear that they will target women’s access to birth control and the ability to make their own family planning decisions,”said Senator Rosen. “Women, not anti-choice politicians, should decide what happens with their own bodies. I’m proud to have helped introduce this bill to protect women’s right to access birth control, and I’ll continue standing up to protect women’s ability to make decisions over their own bodies.”
Senator Rosen continues fighting back against efforts to restrict women’s reproductive freedoms. She helped introduce theRight to Contraception Act, which wasblocked by anti-choice Republicanslast Congress. She also helped introduce theLet Doctors Provide Reproductive Health Care Actto protect doctors and other health care professionals from being prosecuted for providing reproductive care to their patients, as well as theWomen’s Health Protection Actto protect reproductive freedoms in federal law.
