Spending time in southwest Ohio

Dear friends and neighbors, Ohio workers are leading the way, from developing cutting-edge technology for our national defense to strengthening American steelmaking and help secure our nation’s energy dominance. I saw this firsthand during my time in southwest Ohio. At GE Aerospace, I joined senior Pentagon official Michael Duffey to see how Ohioans are developing the next generation of engines for critical U.S. defense systems. We saw firsthand how GE Aerospace’s engines will be integrated into platforms like the Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile. You can’t do Made-in-America without Ohio, and I’m proud of the hard work being done by Ohio engineers and professionals. In Middletown , I joined Vice President JD Vance and U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright for an announcement at Middletown Works with Cleveland-Cliffs. Cleveland-Cliffs’ $1 billion investment in Middletown Works will strengthen Made-in-America manufacturing. This investment will create jobs, strengthen American steelmaking, and help secure our nation’s energy dominance. I advocated for this project because every ton of steel we make at home is one less ton we need to import from overseas. All of this time spent with Ohio workers reinforces what I already know: when we put Ohio workers and American manufacturing first, we make our country stronger.
