Landsman, Davidson Led Bipartisan Effort to Release Delayed Public Safety Funds

<p><strong><em>Cincinnati, OH –</em></strong><em>&nbsp;Today, Congressman Greg Landsman (D-OH-01) </em><em>announced that, following a bipartisan effort with Congressman Warren Davidson (R-OH-08), critical public safety funding for counties across Ohio has been released after significant delays.</em></p>

<p>In July, Congressman Landsman and Congressman Davidson sent a <a href="https://d12t4t5x3vyizu.cloudfront.net/landsman.house.gov/uploads/2025/08/FEMA-Grant-NOFOs-Letter_FINAL.pdf">letter</a> to U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Administrator David Richardson, pushing for answers on the delayed release of Notices of Funding Opportunities (NOFOs) for critical public safety programs.</p>

<p>Shortly after our bipartisan letter was sent, the Federal Emergency Management Agency began notifying counties that funding had been released –&nbsp;including $4.1 million made available to Hamilton County under the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.fema.gov/grants/preparedness/homeland-security">Urban Area Security Initiative</a>&nbsp;(UASI).</p>

<p>These federal grants help reimburse local agencies for essential public safety initiatives, including disaster and mass casualty response, personnel costs, protecting soft targets, combatting violent extremism, securing our elections, and preventing terrorism.</p>
