Rep. Mann Hosts America 250 Call to Prayer Event at Center of Contiguous U.S.

Image June 29, 2026 Press Release LEBANON, KS – U.S. Representative Tracey Mann (KS-01) hosted an America 250 Call to Prayer event on Friday at the geographic center of the contiguous United States, the U.S. Center Chapel in Lebanon, Kansas. The event brought together Kansans two weeks before America's 250th birthday to pray for the nation, reflect on American liberty, and honor the faith, families, and values that have sustained the United States for two and a half centuries. “There is no better place to gather and pray for our country than right here, in the heart of America,” said Rep. Mann. “As we prepare to celebrate 250 years of independence, we should do so with reflection, humility, gratitude, and prayer. America’s strength has never come from Washington, D.C.; it comes from families who pray together, parents who teach their children our shared values, and communities that look out for one another. Standing at the center of the country, my prayer is that America remembers who we are as a nation, keeps faith and family at the center of American life, and remains one nation under God for the next 250 years and beyond.” Lebanon, Kansas is home to the geographic center of the contiguous United States and sits in Kansas’ First Congressional District. Participants of today's program included former Kansas Governor Jeff Colyer, Kansas House Chaplain Doug Henkle, Retired Marine Corps veteran and Pastor Phil Taylor of Salina Presbyterian Church, Allen Seaman of Lebanon, and Dr. John Walker, Superintendent of Central Christian School in Hutchinson. As the nation prepares to mark the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, Rep. Mann urged fellow Members of Congress to reflect on their faith and values as we celebrate this milestone.
