Congresswoman Tenney Releases 2026 Law Enforcement Plan to Support Police and Keep Communities Safe
August 21, 2026 Press Release Oswego, NY — Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-24) today released her 2026 Law Enforcement Plan, outlining her agenda to support law enforcement, strengthen public safety, remove barriers that prevent officers from effectively protecting their communities, and ensure they have the resources and legal protections necessary to do their jobs safely. More than 800,000 law enforcement officers serve communities across the United States, often putting their own lives at risk to protect others. Rep. Tenney’s 2026 Law Enforcement Plan centers on honoring officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice, protecting first responders and corrections officers from violence, strengthening cooperation among federal, state, and local law enforcement, and addressing policies that make it more difficult to keep dangerous criminals off the streets. The plan also supports access to modern de-escalation tools, legal protections for officers acting in good faith, safeguards against exposure to dangerous substances such as fentanyl, and policies that strengthen the relationship between law enforcement and the communities they serve. “Every day, our law enforcement officers put on the uniform knowing they may be called into harm’s way,” said Congresswoman Tenney . “They should know that their government and their communities stand behind them. Keeping our communities safe requires giving officers the tools, resources, and protections they need while holding violent criminals accountable and restoring cooperation at every level of law enforcement. I will continue to stand with the courageous men and women who dedicate their lives to protecting our families, our freedoms, and our communities.” To view Tenney's full Law Enforcement Plan, click here . ###
