Rosen Helps Secure Funding to Lower Energy Costs for Nevada Families

WASHINGTON, DC –U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen announced Nevada will be receiving more than $1.7 million in funding she helped secure to help lower energy costs for hardworking families. This funding comes from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP), which helps low-income families reduce energy costs by increasing energy efficiency in their homes. On average, households using WAP save$372or more every year on energy costs. Every year, Senator Rosen joins her colleagues inrequestingrobust funding for the Weatherization Assistance and State Energy Programs.
“High energy costs are squeezing hardworking Nevada families, and I’m fully committed to doing everything I can to provide them with financial relief,”said Senator Rosen.“I’m proud to have helped secure this funding to lower energy costs for Nevadans.”
Senator Rosen has consistently worked to lower energy costs for Nevadans. Last year, she secured over$15 millionin Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) funding for the state. She’s alsocalled onthe Department of Justice to crack down on price fixing and gouging at the gas pump. Additionally, Senator Rosen helped pass theBipartisan Infrastructure LawandInflation Reduction Actthat are helping lower home energy costs for families in Nevada and across the country.
