Lummis Works to Advance Western Caucus Priorities in Reconciliation
January 29, 2025
WASHINGTON, D.C. – In a letter to Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD), Senate Western Caucus Chair Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) emphasized the critical importance of addressing Western priorities in any potential upcoming budget reconciliation legislation.
“The West is the engine of American energy production, and Senate Republicans have a crucial opportunity to strengthen our position as a global energy leader while advancing policies that benefit our rural communities and public lands,” Lummis wrote.“We stand ready to work alongside leadership to develop strong policy solutions that will benefit both our Western states and the nation as a whole.”
The Western Caucus continues to advocate for policies that support responsible resource development, strengthen rural economies, protect private property rights, and promote sustainable land management practices across the Western United States.
