That’s why I introduced H.R. 2331, the </span><em style="white-space: normal; text-decoration: none;"><span style="line-height: 23.8px;">Transparency in CFPB Cost-Benefit Analysis Act</span></em><span style="white-space: normal; text-decoration: none; background-color: #ffffff; float: none; display: inline; line-height: 23.8px;">. This legislation would enhance rule making requirements for the CFPB. The </span><em style="white-space: normal; text-decoration: none;"><span style="line-height: 23.8px;">Transparency in CFPB Cost-Benefit Analysis Act</span></em><span style="white-space: normal; text-decoration: none; background-color: #ffffff; float: none; display: inline; line-height: 23.8px;"> is a common-sense bill requiring regulators to weigh the costs of compliance against the benefits of each regulation. This legislation will help discourage regulatory overreach; and provide significant relief to small businesses and consumers in Georgia and across the nation.</span></span></p>

Specifically, the rule blocks energy consumption limits imposed on various types of commercial refrigeration equipment, including both self-contained and remote models, which will lead to increased costs for businesses and consumers. This bill repeals burdensome red tape and shields small businesses from rising costs.</span></li>

Specifically, we discussed the success of the 2012 ‘Jumpstart Our Business Startups’ (JOBS) Act, which tailored regulations to make it more affordable for small companies to access the public markets. I asked whether further extending the 404(b) exemption for emerging growth companies (EGCs) would be safe. We also discussed the IPO process and whether regulation contributes to high underwriting costs for would-be public companies.</span></p>

<p style="white-space: normal; text-decoration: none; color: #212121; line-height: 170%;"><span style="color: #000000; line-height: 23.8px;"><strong><span style="line-height: 23.8px;">Alert</span></strong><span style="line-height: 23.8px;">: This week, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) announced it had terminated 113 contracts valued at $4.7 billion including a U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) consulting contract for Peru’s climate change activities.</span></span></p>
<p style="white-space: normal; text-decoration: none; color: #212121; line-height: 170%;"><span style="color: #000000; line-height: 23.8px;"><span style="line-height: 23.8px;"><strong>Alert:</strong> In another instance, DOGE announced the Department of Labor has cancelled $577 million in “America Last” grants, totaling $237 million in savings.</span></span></p>
<p style="white-space: normal; text-decoration: none; color: #212121; line-height: 170%;"><span style="color: #000000; line-height: 23.8px;"><span style="line-height: 23.8px;"><strong>Updated Alert</strong>: Over the past three weeks, DOGE has been cleaning up millions of records in the Social Security Administration’s databases by marking number-holders listed as over the age of 120 as being deceased. Approximately, seven million number holders have been removed from the count.</span></span></p>
