Sykes Votes Yes on War Powers Resolution for Sixth Time, Demands President Trump End Unauthorized Iran War WASHINGTON, D.C. – For the sixth time, U.S. Representative Emilia Sykes (OH-13) voted in favor of a war powers resolution directing the withdrawal of U.S. Armed Forces from hostilities against Iran. Seven months after President Trump launched unauthorized military strikes, Rep. Sykes continues to demand an end to the war with Iran that has cost American service members their lives and placed additional financial strain on families already struggling to make ends meet. “President Trump rushed our country into another endless war without a vote from Congress, without a clear plan to bring it to an end, and without answering to the American people,” said Rep. Sykes. “Eighteen service members have already been killed, and hundreds more have been wounded because of this reckless decision. This war has already cost American taxpayers billions of dollars, and President Trump is asking for billions more to continue a conflict he cannot explain and a strategy he cannot defend. Meanwhile, families in Ohio’s 13th Congressional District and across the country are feeling the strain as costs continue to rise and their budgets get tighter.
