Griffith Statement on Prospective U.S.-Argentina Beef Deal
The United States government is reportedly considering trade policies that would impact the U.S. beef market by importing beef into the country from Argentina. In response to this news, U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement: “In Virginia’s Ninth District, our cattlemen, farmers and ranchers are an integral contributor to America’s renowned cattle industry and beef markets. “American beef is a livelihood for many of our communities. Accordingly, I am advocating for trade deals that benefit American beef. “Further, the U.S. House of Representatives needs to pay close attention to the potential anti-competitive behaviors of some of the large meatpacking entities.” ###
