Grassley Statement on Attorney General Announcement

BUTLER COUNTY, IOWA– U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) issued the following statement regarding President Trump’s decision to nominate a new U.S. Attorney General:
“I want to thank Pam Bondi for her work leading the Justice Department. Over her tenure, Pam Bondi helped bring violent crime down to historic lows. Under her leadership, this Justice Department has been more responsive to my congressional oversight requests than any prior administration I’ve worked with – Republican or Democrat – and I expect that reputation to continue under Bondi’s successor. Safety and transparency ought to remain the Justice Department’s core focus.
“The Judiciary Committee stands ready to advance President Trump’s next Attorney General nominee.”
