Today, U.S. Senator
Marsha Blackburn
(R-Tenn.), the first woman elected to statewide office in Tennessee, was sworn into the 119
th
Congress to begin her second term in the United States Senate. Senator Blackburn took the oath of office administered by U.S. Supreme Court Justice
Amy Coney Barrett.
“It is an honor to serve Tennesseans in the United States Senate,”
said Senator Blackburn
. “Every single day, I am determined to fight for Tennesseans and represent their voice in Congress. There is no shortage of tasks for the Senate to tackle, and in the new Congress my priorities are cutting taxes, getting the economy working again, securing our border, and protecting children online. We must also continue to combat the New Axis of Evil, fight human traffickers, increase access to health care for veterans, and keep men out of women’s sports.”
