Callais : “The right to vote, and have every American’s vote matter equally, is foundational to our democracy. Generations of Americans put their lives on the line to secure that Constitutional right and generations of Americans have benefited from the protections of the Voting Rights Act. “For decades, the Supreme Court has undermined that landmark law, culminating in today’s decision which opens the door for states to racially gerrymander their districts and sets us back on centuries of progress.
