Correa Votes NO on Weaponizing Student AID

Washington, D.C. — Congressman Lou Correa (CA-46) released the following statement on his 'no' vote on the Protect Economic and Academic Freedom Act of 2026 , which would strip Title IV federal aid from colleges that boycott Israel. “I don’t support boycotts. Never have. But I won’t hamstring the First Amendment to jeopardize federal student aid. This bill punishes universities and students for exercising their freedom of speech.
