TEANECK, NJ — Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) visited Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck to tour the new Graduate Medical Education Center, built with federal funds clawed back to Jersey, tour the new cutting-edge intensive care unit, and to discuss the organization’s critical role in providing care for the community. “Holy Name Medical Center is providing first-class care for our community,” said Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5). “They are on the front lines, making sure hardworking Jersey families have access to the healthcare they need to stay healthy and get ahead. I’m grateful for the commitment of the top-notch doctors, nurses, and techs; and Iwill keep fighting in Congress to lower costs and expand access to care.” Holy Name is New Jersey’s only independent Catholic health system. In 2023, Holy Name received $3.8 million in federal funding secured by Congressman Gottheimer to launch a new GME program. The program officially opened in 2025, welcoming its inaugural class of resident physicians. They are helping to train the next generation of physicians to address New Jersey’s nursing shortage. Gottheimer’s visit underscores his continued focus on lowering healthcare costs, expanding access to care, and strengthening New Jersey’s healthcare workforce.
