Rep. Hoyle Conducts Oversight at Tacoma ICE Facility
October 06, 2026 REP. HOYLE CONDUCTS OVERSIGHT AT TACOMA ICE FACILITY Eugene, OR – Today, Congresswoman Val Hoyle and her staff conducted an oversight visit at a United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Tacoma, Washington, where constituents are being detained. After the visit, Rep. Hoyle released the following statement: "Constituents in my district are footing a nearly $1,500-per-person bill for illegal mass deportations," said Rep. Hoyle. "This is a cruel waste of resources and not what people voted for. Today in Tacoma, we were checking on community members to ensure they have legal representation, healthcare and access to food and information.” If you have questions about immigration or know someone who is in detention, contact our office at (541) 465-6732 or hoyle.house.gov. Background People in Oregon’s Fourth Congressional District are spending $1,483 per person to fuel the Administration’s mass deportation campaign. Rep. Hoyle is committed to fighting for a system that honors due process and focuses enforcement on those who have committed violent crimes, not tearing away innocent people from their families, jobs and communities. Some of her recent legislative actions include: Cosponsoring the VISIBLE Act and the Preventing Authoritarian Policing Tactics on America's Streets Act, which require federal law enforcement to have clear identification and stop unmarked arrests Cosponsoring the Dignity for Detained Immigrants Act and Stop Inhumane Conditions in ICE Detention Act, which mandates strict detention standards and protects people’s civil and human rights Cosponsoring the Access to Counsel Act, which ensures detainees can speak with legal counsel Cosponsoring the Immigration Court Due Process Protection Act, which ends the arrest of people for just showing up to their scheduled immigration court hearings Cosponsoring the DIGNIDAD (Dignity) Act, a comprehensive immigration reform package that would increase border security while expanding legal immigration Cosponsoring the DRAIN Act to repeal H.R. 1’s $75 billion slush fund to support the administration’s deportation agenda ### Print Email Share Tweet
