Fischer Statement on Judge Rossiter’s Senior Status Announcement
OMAHA – U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-NE) today released the following statement after Judge Robert F. Rossiter announced he will take senior status on the U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska: “Judge Robert Rossiter has served Nebraska with distinction in this role for a decade. His tenure on the federal bench has been defined by integrity, professionalism, and a steadfast commitment to the rule of law. Nebraska is better for his dedicated service. I’m proud to call him a friend and wish him all the best.” In 2014, Fischer recommended to former President Obama the nomination of Judge Rossiter. In 2015, Fischer testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee on behalf of his nomination. In 2016, the Senate confirmed Judge Rossiter to serve as the U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska.
