During the Fiscal Year 2024 appropriations process, Congressman Menendez and Senator Booker advocated for the federal investment through two Community Project Funding requests totaling $3,697,752. The City of Hoboken will leverage the funds to upgrade outdated water meters that waste both water and city revenue. As New Jerseyans face rising utility bills, the new, improved meters will save taxpayer dollars, conserve water, and improve leak detection. “I am proud to have worked with Senator Booker to help secure millions of dollars in federal funding to improve Hoboken’s water infrastructure,” said Congressman Rob Menendez . “As higher bills strain our working families, investing in our water system will improve customer service and reduce expenses when taxpayers turn on the tap. This success story is a testament to the continued partnership between our office and local elected officials. I’m grateful to see this project move forward and will always advocate for our communities in Congress.” “I’m proud to have partnered with Representative Menendez and Mayor Bhalla to secure the necessary federal funding to upgrade Hoboken’s water system, saving Hoboken residents money on their already too-high utility bills,” said Senator Cory Booker . “At a time when New Jersey residents increasingly feel the economic hardships brought on by Trump’s tariffs and a slowing economy, I will continue to fight in the Senate to bring back money for vital infrastructure projects like this one that will improve New Jerseyan’s lives.” “I want to thank Congressman Rob Menendez and Senator Cory Booker for their longstanding support in helping Hoboken secure federal funding for this critical water system upgrade,” said Hoboken Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla. “With this investment, we are taking a major step toward replacing outdated water meters with smart technology that will allow us to better detect leaks more quickly, improve water conservation, and reduce unnecessary costs for residents. This project is a win for both our environment and our community, and reflects our ongoing commitment to building a more efficient and sustainable Hoboken.” Print Email Share Previous Article Next Article About Services News Contact Facebook Logo Twitter Logo BlueSky Logo Youtube Logo Instagram Logo
