Rep. Sykes Presents $250,000 Ceremonial Check for Clinton Road Rehabilitation Project

August 25, 2026 Rep. Sykes Presents $250,000 Ceremonial Check for Clinton Road Rehabilitation Project CLINTON, OHIO — On Friday, U.S. Representative Emilia Sykes (OH-13) presented a $250,000 ceremonial check to the Village of Clinton for the Clinton Road Rehabilitation Project. “Clinton Road is a lifeline for this community, and I was proud to fight for the funding needed to fix it,” said Rep. Sykes. “This project will protect nine local businesses and more than 60 jobs at the Warwick Industrial Park, improve safety for drivers, and strengthen the only connection between the Village of Clinton, the City of New Franklin, and the highway system. I'm grateful to Mayor McDaniel and the Village of Clinton for their partnership on this important project.” “On behalf of the Village of Clinton, we would like to thank the office of Emilia Sykes and the United States Congress for their support of our village in an effort to help us maintain a road that is in bad need of repair and also carries heavy truck traffic on,” said Mayor McDaniel of Clinton. This project will fully reconstruct and resurface Clinton Road from Cleveland Massillon Road east for approximately 2,600 linear feet, including base repair and standard pavement build up. Travel lanes will be widened from nine to twelve feet to improve safety, and the project will also address stormwater drainage to keep rainwater off the pavement. Clinton Road is the only connection for the Village of Clinton and the City of New Franklin to the highway system at State Route 21, and it serves as the sole access route for nine businesses and more than 60 jobs at the Warwick Industrial Park. The project was originally submitted for Fiscal Year 2025 Community Project Funding but was not included in that year's Continuing Resolution. It was resubmitted in Fiscal Year 2026, and Rep. Sykes secured $250,000 for the project, one of 15 Community Project Funding awards totaling more than $12 million she secured for Ohio's 13th Congressional District.
