Cassidy Announces $480 Million for Louisiana Disaster Recovery and Emergency Preparedness

WASHINGTON –U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced Louisiana will receive a combined $479,804,731.90 from U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to support recovery and emergency preparedness following Hurricanes Ida, Laura, Zeta, Francine, and Isaac, as well as response efforts related to Seawater Intrusion and Severe Storms and Flooding. The funding will help reimburse local governments, utilities, and state and nonprofit partners for permanent repairs, emergency protective measures, debris removal, hazard mitigation, and management costs.
“After storms, Louisiana families need clean water, power, schools, and hospitals back up and running as quickly as possible,”said Dr. Cassidy.“This funding will help Louisiana rebuild stronger, recover faster, and be better prepared for what comes next.”
