More Than $1 Million Awarded for Transportation Improvements Supporting Minot Air Force Base

BISMARCK N.D. – U.S. Senators Kevin Cramer (R-ND) and John Hoeven (R-ND), and Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak (R-ND) today announced the North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) has been awarded $1.04 million through the Defense Community Infrastructure Program (DCIP) to support transportation improvements at Minot Air Force Base. The funding will support a $1.3 million project to improve access to the base. In May, the delegation sent a letter to the Office of Local Defense Community Cooperation. The project will extend the northbound left-turn lane on U.S. Highway 83 to better accommodate traffic entering Minot Air Force Base and improve safety and reliability along the route. “Minot Air Force Base plays a critical role in our national defense, and reliable infrastructure is essential to supporting its missions,” said the delegation. “We worked together to support NDDOT’s application, and this funding will help improve safety and traffic flow for servicemembers, the Minot community and those traveling through the region.” Full text of the letter can be found here .
