VIDEO: Sen. Moran Leads Appropriations Subcommittee Hearing with Attorney General Pam Bondi

WASHINGTON
– U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) – chairman of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies – led a subcommittee hearing to review the President’s FY2026 budget request for the Department of Justice (DOJ), with United States Attorney General Pam Bondi testifying as a witness before the subcommittee.
“Attorney General, in the last 72 hours, senior officials at the Department of Justice and the FBI have issued warnings about the possibility of Iran or its supporters retaliating on American soil. I’m concerned by these threats, particularly to Jewish communities and facilities,”
said Sen. Moran.
“Particularly, I’m concerned after one of our own state’s citizens, Kansan Sarah Milgrim, was murdered by an anti-Israel activist here in Washington, D.C. Can you tell us about specific actions the FBI and the DOJ are taking to mitigate these threats?”
“Thank you, Senator Moran, and I spoke with Sarah’s family in Kansas,”
responded AG Bondi.
“I went to the scene of that crime as I’ve done countless times as a homicide prosecutor in my career. I never dreamed that I would do that again, and it was truly horrific…We are all over these cases, working hand-in-hand with FBI, with Homeland Security. All of our agencies are working so well together to try to combat this throughout our country.”
“Thank you for your vehement response about the importance of protecting all Americans, and particularly those who are singled out for their heritage or religion,”
continued Sen. Moran.
