Douglas Philippone, a West Palm Beach resident, is being inducted into the U.S. Army Ranger Hall of Fame, one of the highest distinctions a Ranger can receive. Senator Moody is entering his accomplishment into the Congressional Record as a gesture of gratitude for Philippone’s exceptional service. “Congratulations to Douglas Philippone for being inducted to the Army Ranger Hall of Fame! Over the course of a distinguished military career, Doug served with extraordinary valor, leading critical operations in support of the global war on terror and helping protect our nation during some of its most challenging moments. As a 5 th generation Floridian, someone in an Army family, and member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, I’m honored to enter Douglas’s story into our Congressional Record to commemorate his exceptional service,” said Senator Ashley Moody. BACKGROUND: Being inducted into the U.S. Army Ranger Hall of Fame is reserved for individuals whose leadership, courage, and service have left a lasting mark on the Ranger Regiment and the U.S. military. Philippone served in the US Army for 18 years from 1991 to 2008. During his time in the US Army, he deployed to Afghanistan, Iraq and Pakistan for a total of six deployments from 2003-2007. Philippone commanded multiple Joint Special Operations Command outstations in support of the global war on terror. Philippone ran the foreign fighter campaign on the Syrian border in 2005 to stop the flow of suicide bombers into Baghdad and helped to ensure a successful Iraqi election. For his service, Philippone was awarded three bronze stars with two valor awards, the joint commendation medal with valor award, as well as many other commendations for his service to the nation. After leaving the Army, Philippone continues to support America’s warfighters, helping deliver advanced capabilities to those serving on the front lines and assisting wounded Rangers, military families, and veterans transitioning to civilian life. # # # Join the Newsletter Email Address First Name Last Name Follow Follow Follow Follow Copyright 2024 Follow Follow Follow Follow Usage Policy PDF Help Privacy Policy Senate.gov
