With CDC Under Attack, Sen. Ossoff Working Across the Aisle to Protect Its Work

Washington, D.C.— With the CDC under attack, U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is bringing Republicans and Democrats together to protect its work.
Today, Sen. Ossoff launched a push to pass the bipartisanRural Health Focus Act, legislation he’s cosponsoringto continue improving and supporting rural health through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Office of Rural Health.
Through the Office of Rural Health, the CDC partners with rural communities to address health disparities and challenges unique to rural public health. This legislation will strengthen rural health infrastructure and authorize grants to improve health outcomes across rural Georgia.
“Georgia, the nation, and the world depend on the CDC. As the CDC suffers from mass firings and political attacks, I am bringing Republicans and Democrats together to protect their vital work in Georgia and nationwide,”Sen. Ossoff said.
