Rep. Huffman Votes to Block U.S. Support for Israel’s War in Lebanon
Rep. Huffman Votes to Block U.S. Support for Israel’s War in Lebanon June 30, 2026 Washington, D.C. — Today, Representative Jared Huffman (CA-02) released the following statement after voting in favor of H.Con.Res.108, the Lebanon War Powers Resolution: "Donald Trump has repeatedly used our military to directly and indirectly fight wars that Congress never authorized, and for too long this feckless Congress has looked away. No more. With this and other War Powers Resolutions, Democrats and a few courageous Republicans are reclaiming Congress’s authority over acts of war and affirming that Article I of the Constitution still means something," said Rep. Huffman. "I oppose Israel’s war in Lebanon and want our military to have nothing to do with it. This new resolution from Representative Tlaib gets the language right by blocking US military entanglement in Israel’s war in Lebanon, while preserving legitimate national security interests in Lebanon including troops that essential to protect our embassy. This is what thoughtful Congressional oversight looks like.” ### Print Email Tweet Next Article Previous Article
